Let me take you on a quick trip down memory lane… Feb 22, 2012 – I hit “publish” on my first event spotlight blog post. My journey into event promo and creative marketing officially began.
Dec 22, 2023 – I posted my last event spotlight blog on my previous Manifestation Media website. At that point, I had published 370 blog posts! Each one a love letter to the amazing events and artists I’ve had the joy of supporting. So… why take it all down?
My old site got heavy AF. It was slow, clunky, and kind of like a digital scrapbook bursting at the seams. A few of the artists I had promoted had unfortunately been "cancelled", and most of the posts featured events that were over. I realized that posting one-off event features wasn't aligned with my bigger vision of building a real community of readers, creators, and subscribers.
So I simplified. I got clear. I shifted from the chaotic, whenever-I-can publishing schedule to a streamlined newsletter model—and guess what? More people are reading my published work now than ever before. After over a decade in this game, here's what I know for sure:
- Consistency & persistence win the game!
- I’m not perfect, I’m not AI, and I sure as heck am not a spam bot.
- I AM just a creative human who loves other creative humans. I do this because I believe in artists. I believe in community. I believe in the magic of inspiring creative people to follow their dreams and do more of what they love.
